Common questions

Do I need an account to use AskPronto?

No. There is no sign-up, no password and no email required. Open the app and start asking. Your device is identified by an anonymous code that contains nothing about you.

How many free answers do I get?

Six verified answers, free, on every device. The counter above the message box tells you how many remain. After that, the Trip Pass unlocks unlimited answers for the length of your trip.

Is the Trip Pass a subscription?

No. It is a single payment for a fixed period. Nothing renews automatically and you are never charged again unless you choose to buy another one.

I want a refund.

Purchases go through the App Store, so refunds are handled by Apple: request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. If something went wrong on our side, write to us first — we will help you with the request.

The app says my answers are used up, but I just installed it.

The counter follows the device, not the installation, so reinstalling does not reset it. If you believe the count is wrong, write to us with your device code (shown in the app) and we will look at it.

Where does the strike information come from?

From the official strike register published by the Italian Ministry of Transport, which our server reads several times a day and translates into plain English. We are not affiliated with the Ministry, with Trenitalia, with Italo or with any municipality — we read their public information.

A strike is listed but my train is running. Why?

That is normal and it is good news. Italian strikes have legally protected hours, and rail operators publish lists of guaranteed trains a day or two before. A strike being announced does not mean every service stops. Ask Pronto about your specific train and date, and always check the operator’s guaranteed-train list 24–48 hours before you travel.

An answer looks wrong or out of date.

Tell us — seriously. Rules in Italy change, and being the source that is current is the whole point of this app. Send the question and the answer you received to hello@askprontoitaly.com and we will check it against the official source and correct it.

I am not receiving strike alerts.

Check that notifications for AskPronto are enabled in your device settings, and that you tapped “Enable strike alerts” inside the Strike Radar. Alerts only ring for strikes falling within the next ten days, and never between 11pm and 6am Italian time.

Can Pronto book a restaurant or buy a ticket for me?

Not automatically, not yet. What we can do today is have a real person call on your behalf: ask Pronto and it will prepare a request for you to send to our human concierge on WhatsApp. We never claim a booking has been made unless a person has actually made it.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting the app removes your conversation history, which is stored only on your device. To have the server-side record tied to your device code removed as well, write to hello@askprontoitaly.com and include that code. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Which countries does AskPronto cover?

Italy only, on purpose. Depth in one country beats a thin layer over the whole world — that is the entire idea behind this app.

Still stuck?

Write to hello@askprontoitaly.com. Tell us what you were trying to do and what happened instead, and if you can, the device code shown in the app. It makes finding the problem much faster.

You can also reach us on WhatsApp at +39 327 270 6664, fastest during Italian working hours.
